A great day for football and with B's running off a nice stint of wins confidence was high. B's had a difficult start with several players pulling up sick or injured late which was unfortunate with C and D teams going to Mt Barker.
The game started with complete control in fact a staggering 89% possession by all accounts. The B's dominated the game and Pulteney really has no answer. In the First 15mins 3 opportunities were let go with combo's of Amos, Justin and Emran all providing chances to sink several goals in.
Midfield saw Tawni (Toni) step in and place some pressure in the middle positions. The game was a well played and even the referee for what its worth complimented the B's playing the ball and displaying a good level of football.
Possession is great however goals are too, at half time the 0-0 score line was the focus, with ample opportunities it was the only concern, still the B;s were confident and there was still a half. Second half saw the same domination and great combined team work to deliver countless attacks yet for all the pressing no reward. Pulteney got a sniff at goals and for about 10mins placed huge amount of pressure with Vish saving several difficult shots on goal parrying them away over the bar. Whites responded with pushing back and several more opportunities were available with new subs Jay and Alex (new French guy) providing some fresh legs. In all a draw – B's were very good and unluckily could not convert, the team needs to focus on finishing and team work. passing in the last third is paramount. A superb effort and very clinical in all aspects of the game, many players are becoming game aware and this is extremely positive to see – if we can get the ball into the net we will finish top. Well done to all.
