Result: Immanuel 2 – 2 Whites

After a hard fought win against Reds the week before, the Rowdy Cs can get into the fighting sprint, take their form into the following week aaaaaaaand we’ve drawn 2-2 to Immanuel. The Whites first struggled, looking shell shocked after conceding early by giving their forwards to much space in front of goal. After fighting and pressing hard in the midfield,  the tide began to turn. midway through the first half, David Seaman entered Basnecs body. After what I hope is becoming a “standard save” by the “Croatian” keeper, he launches an intercontinental ballistic missile of a kick down wind to pick out Omar who bodies off the centreback and slots home the Whites first for the day. The C’s continued to stay on top throughout the half, after earning a penalty which was converted once again by soon to be golden boot winner, Omar, who has now netted 12 goals in 4 games. We went into the break with mixed feeling; happy we were on top, but felt our performance was terrible. Unfortunately, we could not carry our form into the second half, with Immanuel stepping up their pressure, using their pace up top to continue to pick out holes in our struggling backline. As the final whistle drew near, it looked like the C’s would hold on and clench the victory but, like 2013/14 Liverpool, sloppy defending saw a slip up, with a desperate Immanuel managed to equalise in the 90th minute to make it 2-2. That ended a frustrating day, after what felt like a 2-2 loss, with many lessons to take into the future.
